These short crochet hooks are also referred to as safety hooks. The hook comes with a cap that is used to cover the hook when not in use – for “safety”. It prevents the hook from catching in other objects. The cap is also intended to be placed on the handle when crocheting to lengthen the hook. The extra length helps stabilize the orientation of the hook. It rests or glides over the skin so the hook has less freedom of movement and requires less movement of your hand to align the hook with the next hole or catch the thread.<\/p>\n
